Windows mail wont make connection with yahoo mail

:confusedI may be in the wrong place, but how do I correct it when it says it doesn't have yahoo mails address?

Hi

What Windows OS are you using and Service Pack?

When you say Windows Mail will not connect with Yahoo, what Windows Mail are you using is it Windows Live Mail or the Windows Vista built in email?

If the Vista Mail and with other email applications then this maybe of help HERE but as Yahoo has specific server settings you may need to set the following

Incomming = pop.mail.yahoo.com
Ougoing = smtp.mail.yahoo.com

Also Ypops is a good 3rd party app to use for Yahoo.

But, the above only applies to a paid Yahoo! Mail account; it does not apply to the free account. The free Yahoo! Mail account is not designed to work with an email client such as Windows Mail.

YPOPs is a third-party add-on that is supposed to allow a free Yahoo! Mail account to work with an email client. I tried it once but was not successful in getting it to work.

If you really want to use an email client to access your email, as opposed to a webmail access (access via web browser), then why not switch to an email service such as gmail or an email account from your ISP, or a free account from http://www.gmx.com/ or http://www.fastmail.fm/, that will work with an email client without having to resort to some third-party add-on to get it to work.
