windows me blue screen error

ok i`m new here and need help.Working on my sister in laws computer....when it boots it goes through the Gateway bar,through the revert thing but when it gets to the windows me screen it goes to blue with error message ERROR: OE: 0167: BFF82FCB press any key to continue....but when i press a key it shuts off.I`ve tried safe mode same thing....sorry I can`t give more info on the computer all I know is its made by Gateway and runs Windows ME....any way to reinstall os from scratch??Please help I`m stuck!!!!!!!!!!!!!Thanks also should say I have tried to revert to an earlier time and it dosen`t help thanks.

 

Hi and welcome to MajorGeeks.

As it's a Gateway, they normally include GoBack? If so, as it's booting press the space bar for menu.

What CD's do you have? Is it a proper CD or a Recovery or nothing?

 

I `ve used the GoBack and it still does the same thing.The CD`s are the ones that came with the computer for reinstalling.

 

I'm surprised GoBack didn't work, it loads indendently of Windows

How many restore points did you try?


Anyway, see if THIS helps.

If not, ponder the thought of formatting and reinstalling.
