windows ME or XP

i have a older computer with 600MHz procesor and 320 megs of ram i was wondering which one i should use. i use this computer to play game (morrowind ). so just tell me whick one would let me play it with the least amout of freazing.

 

I've read many, many posts around here. The general consensus seems to be that ME is no good. I've been using it for over a year with absolutly no problems. But, given the oppurtunity I would use XP.

With a 600 MHz CPU and 320 MB of RAM you should be ok as long as it does not contain heavy 3D Graphics.

 

well i play morowind and decent freespace will they work ok on it. if so then XP it is.

 

Im not much of a gamer, so I cant really help with this. For anything I recommend Windows XP. But if you do not want it to be slow or do not have the hardware then I would think about it. I would go ahead and go with XP if I were you due to security reasons. Its possible it may not be slow, not sure of the games.

 

i gess i can try XP and if it doesnt work then i will in stall ME. i really wish i had a better computer

 

you will be able to play Morrowind just fine under windows XP, it is THE most stable and compatible Windows.

3D graphics do not effect windows much, thats dependent on your Graphics card.

definelty go XP, and if you can in the future, a little more RAM will make windows XP run very smoothly

Hi,I've had Windows Me for almost 5 yrs. now with no problems,it performs very well for me. I do all the windows updates,tweaked the system here and there,,,it just runs great for me,when I finally get a new computer I will have XP but for now I just love ME.
Ford Motor Co. gave all of it's employes a brand new computer in 2000 and they were all loaded with ME.

There's 600 people that have them where I work and just a hand full complain,people complain about XP too,,,,,then again sometimes people just like to complain.

 

There is alway going to be someone to complain about something. In my opinion XP would be good for your computer. ME is a good operating system, but is still outdated. Like InYearsToCome said XP is the most stable. As long as you have a decent video card you should be fine.
