Can you tell if your CPU is a Northwood or Prescott?
Socket 478 or LGA775?

 

Oh I get it, making fun of the newbie computer illiterate guy.

I'm just relieved I can surf the net without the computer freezing every 5 minutes! So, for future learning experience, are you suggesting all I needed to do was throw extra ram into the machine?

Sorry, are you asking about the computer with ME on it or the new one with XP on it for $100? The new CPU is Northwood. Socket is 478 mPGA. To be honest I have no idea what that all means.
