Windows ME Service pack?

Can anybody tell me if there is a service pack for Windows ME and can I DL it and put it on a CD?

You could probably order a CD from microsoft... like the one im getting with all the updates for everything 98 onwards.. hang on ill dig up the link

Yes, it probably is. You can "make your own" if you go into Personalize Windows update, show windows update catalog, windows update catalog, pick and choose all the updates you would like, then stick them on a CD once they are downloaded.

I dont think they made a SP for ME weirdly enoguh... :/

 

well the situation is I am fixing my friends computer and I need to reinstall ME on it, but will not have internet access on the machine.

 

I have sreached Microsoft Service Packs page and Windows ME isn't listed for having a Service Pack available??

 

Just get all the critical updates, unfortunatley you'll have to install them all manuall which looks like it might take some time and many, many reboots.

A shame ME never had a service pack, or you could have slipstreamed it like you can in XP. Would have saved a lot of hassle.

EDIT: oh just to clarify, if you use the windows update catalog it will save all the files to your HD so you can put them on a CD, and run the .exe files on the machine

You gotta navigate, and it's not an obvious path, and there IS NO link we can give you. MS wouldn't make it that easy. Here's how:

Go to Windows Update in IE.
On the left click Windows Update Catalog (in the sidebar).
Click Find updates for Windows operating systems.
Choose Windows Millenium Edition.
Click the Search button, lower right.
Click Criticals.

You'll see what I mean about no link as you get into it.

We had been around on that one already. Coupla times. No help. Problem was that the man needed it YESTERDAY, and had to d/l it all and burn it to take to a friend's house. Naturally, he wanted ONLY to d/l and burn exactly what he needed for Me, not all the OTHER stuff (the stuff that's on the orderable CD), so we were helping him find what he needed.
