Windows Me Update

    Every time I go to the update site the page comes up blank. On the odd ocasion I manage to actually get to the update page it says "Checking for latest updates. Depending on your connection speed this may take a minute" Or words to that effect anyway. Problem is it nothing happens. Last time I tried it the page stayed the same for over 20 minutes.
    Help!!!

    I'm using Windows Me and have AVG which comes up clean everytime. I also have Ad-aware.
