    Hello Everybody,
I have been having a few problems with media player, particularly watching streaming videos with it, i have the divx codec on it but have downloaded no others to my knowledge. I have no spyware or viruses at the moment. I have to use Real player to stream at the moment but that crashes and isnt very good

I also have a question about the virtual memory, do you have to set it on a second drive if you have one?

    My PC Specs:

Microsoft Windows XP SP2 (and all recent security updates)
    Pentium 4 2Ghz Processor
2 Hard Drives, 80Gb Primary HD and 110Gb Secondary (storage)
    768Mb RAM
Microstar Motherboard (not sure which model)
    GeForce 5500 FX GFX card
And obviously Windows Media Player 10

    Any Help Appriciated!

What if any error does WMP give you? are you also sure that the streaming media is Divx?

I would personally and do install this alternative to Real Media as I find ist much more stable and less of a PITA Real Alternative best to un-install Real Media first.

As to Virtual Memory.. no you dont have to its not a set in stone rule BUT if you do have a 2nd HD then it will help having the Virtual Memory on that drive as paging files will be a bit less... another way to help your VM is to have a fixed size and not let windows manage it eg. Min 512mb Max 512mb this way their is alot less fragmentation of your HD.

WMP doesnt give me an error it just crashes when it opens certain files form the internet, i dont know if its a certain file type that doenst work or what?
i know files arent divx i was just saying that i have the Divx codec in the first post

When it opens up at the bottom it says connecting but it never does anything

And this Real Player Replacement, Does everything still work alright with it?

And i have one more question, Can i make Real Player (or another program) the default player for Internet Media Files?
