I have NO sound when trying to play DVD's with WMP11, which I just uninstalled & reinstalled.....read one thread that said to check the options under the sync tab......select the correct tab for speakers.....I dont even know which choice would be 'correct'..I am a novice to troubleshooting on PC..so please be patient with your explanations......my CD's play fine. I am using Windows XP....Thanks for your time & patience.:-o

Hi grdngrl, is this an original DVD or one you have burned yourself?

It is likely a codec issue but WMP usually tells you this and offers to find it for you.

My best advice would be to use a different player, windows media player is not very good IMO.

Try VLC player if you don already have it, here is a link........

That should play it no problems, although depending on a couple of factors you might have to download a codec, but it will prompt you and get it for you if it does, and you will probably never have to get another codec again after that :)
