Windows Media Player 11 - ripping

Good morning everyone.

Haven't a clue if I've done something or inadvertently changed a setting (I don't think so though) but just recently, when I've ripped a couple of CD's, WMP11 has decided to rename each of the tracks, juggling the titles around. For example, if I'd ripped a Beatles CD, WMP11 would be playing 'love me do' but the title would show as 'she loves me'.

Hope I've explained that well.

But has anyone any idea as to why this is happening and how I can stop it?

I did find some information on the net about WMP11 'getting' the album information from the internet, but not sure if that is what is happening or not, and if it is, how do I disable it?

Push in the little arrow in Now Playing and that will give you a pull down menu where you can find more options, here you can change them. Hope this helps you!!!

 

that's probably what's happening, it's getting the info automatically. you can disable that in the settings, as chapincito pointed out.

Just to check I've found the right thing, in the 'privacy' tab, there are options for 'display media information from the internet' and 'update music files by retrieving media information from the internet'. If I uncheck both these options, am I going in the right direction?

 

Right track - in fact, you can disable anything internet in WMP safely...
