Windows Media Player 11

Hi Geeks, running XP Home SP3 and WMP11.
WMP has started to close immediately after it opens. There is an error report created for MS but i don't know were to find it. My music files are on and external HD with a USB 2 connection. I just downloaded and reinstalled WMP11, without success. I'm also having issues with the following files:
usbhehci.sys
usbuhci.sys
usbui.dll
When updating drivers using the Slim Driver utility, the update asked for these files but they don't seem to be in the Windows/System32/Drivers folder. Not sure if these tow items are related. I can still copy files to and from the external HD.
All of this may have been triggered by a third issue. When plugging in my Blackberry a few weeks ago, the Blackberry Desktop Software had an update. immediately after that update, the BDS crashes in the same manner as WMP. There was also a blue screen caused by the usbuhei.sys file.
So something appears to be going on with my drivers? Any ideas?

 

Can you restore the system to before the problems started happening?

 

No, can't restore to that point, too much other recent activity. i'm working with Verizon to get the previous version of the desktop software. The other thing I want to find the current USB 2 drivers, my PCI card is a Dynex, maybe some of the driver updates went wrong.
Another interesting point, other audio (Winamp) and video (KMPlayer) programs all still work just fine, so its a WMP problem, somehow the WMP and Blackberry Desktop Software media components are in conflict (it appears to me anyhow). Blackberry uses Roxio which I never have liked much.
