windows media player 12

Does wmp 12 play mp3? I burned a mp3 cd in Nero and tried to play it on my computer but the audio was not recognized by my computer. I tried to play it on my mp3 player and I am getting the message no disc. Would this be my burner. When I burned a regular cd it would not play in my cd player. Is there a way I can troubleshoot my burner or the wmp 12 program? Thank you in advance for any input to my problem.

Don't use Nero as of late, prefer Ashampoo Burning Studio. At what speed are you burning the disc? Might want to slow it down...
Most folks I know use WMP to burn their audio, and need to turn the rate down from fastest.
