My Windows media player freezes up, and this happened AROUND the same time i plugged in more RAM......can't say if it was definitely the cause. I had 256, now have 512. I believe the video card on my computer is a COMPAL V700 on Intel(R) 82815 Graphics Controller.
Computer itself is Compaq Deskpro EN, running Windows 98 se
After I press Control/alt/delete to finish the program, I can't get it up again either, till I reboot computer. I've reinstalled Media player 9, and downloaded the latest drivers from Intel, but no change.
    Does anyone have any ideas?

When it freezes is it on music, video, online streaming video/music or all of them?

Do you get any error messges or does it just lockup? When locking up does any music stutter?

But some quick basic steps that may help are,

Delete all temporary folders, internet temp, windows temp, to do this you can use CCleaner

then as you have re-installed WMP9.. goto Windows Udpate and check for any updates to WMP9... even if you had them before, you have no re-installed WMP9 and any linked update will need re-registering.
