windows media player codecs?

Hi I have been trying to play mp3 audio files and I get the error message C00D109B requires one or more codecs to play.I have tried using Gspot to find out which codecs I need but had no luck.I've looked for updates for wmp but it said there are no new updates and I downloaded XP Codec pack 2.0.5
Had no luck with any of these I still can't play the files does anyone have any idea wheat I can do?

or rather'what' I can do as 'wheat I can do' makes no sense

 

oh and one other quick thing,can anyone reccomend another good media player?

I downloaded this media player right from our site and its worked great for me no problems

Also what WMP version do you have? You can also try downloading the new beta of WMP
