Windows media player decoder ?

    trying to play a dvd, using windows media player, windows/xp: it says i need a decoder ? thanks

    All you need is a codec pack; codec is short for encode/decode. Here's one that works great with Windows Media Player and all versions of Windows:

    Install it using default settings, but be sure to set Windows Media Player as your default player - OR - you can simply install Kantaris:

    . . . and use it as your all-purpose media player. It doesn't need codecs (they're all built in) and it doesn't require any real user input during the install process....
