Windows media Player flies off screen

My windows media player is literally "flying" off the screen when i open it. The tool bar at the bottom shows up, but when maximized the WMP shoots off into nowhere land beyond the domain of the monitor. I really think this started happening after i downloaded windows security pack 2.

Anyway, i click the tool bar and the media player "flys" toward the upper right hand corner of the monitor into the abyss. Can anyone help?

PS this junky comuter has an aftermarket video card for the former one failed. I dont know if this can be of some diagnositc help.

No point in blaming a hardware for this type of problem, even it is indeed video related, the culprity would be the drivers not the vide card itself. After all drivers determine and make the device work the way it is....
..other possibilities...Windows Media Player got messed up. I haven't heard SP2 causing any problem eith WMP...what version of WMP are you using? Have you tried downloading the newest version? Worse case scenario try uninstalling and re-installing it....

PS...I hope you were not trying to open some freaky video clips (porn, etc.)..I am assuming the site is reputable and the file you were trying to open is in working condition? Does WMP behave that way when you try to open a clip in a browser or from a local file? Provide more info please.

 

hey i dont' know how often this gets checked but i had this problem too and struggled to fix it....i found this as a solution:

1. Minimize the player.
2. Right click and click SIZE.
3. NOW...don't move the mouse...hold down the left mouse button and drag it left untill you can see the player.

You may have to fool with it a few times...but it worked for me. hope this helps.
