I tried to an avi movie in Windows Media Player yesterday. The audio was fine, but there was no video- and mpgs work. Can anyone help?

    I use WMP 10. Thanks

An avi can use any number of Codecs. Download GSpot. This will identify the codec that the avi uses. From there it will give you an idea of what to download.

If you just want to watch the video VLC player has its own internal codecs and will play just about anything.

Or, if you prefer WMP try getting fddshow it should allow WMP to play most files including avis.
