Windows media player won't show subtitles when watching dvd's.

I have WMP 10, with Intervideo dvd x pack. It will not allow me to turn on subtitles or captions when watching dvds. If there is no dvd in the drive i can set subtitle to "on if available", but as soon as i insert a dvd the option is removed.
Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Down load K-Lite codec pack,and install it.this will solve your problem.BTW,uninstall Intervideo dvd x pack firstly.

Thanks for the advice. About uinstalling the dvd x pack, its the only dvd decoder installed on my computer. Does the K Lite pack contain one? or do you recommend another?
