windows media player

When I watch certain video clips on WMP when it is finished or I close it out I recieve a "com surrogate has encountered a problem" why does this happen? Can this be stopped it is rather annoying? Oh the WMP 11 is the version I have on Windows XP SP2 any help is great thanks..

 

Have you attempted to uninstall and reinstall WMP11? Including the runtime environment(it would be right above WMP11 in the add/remove program control applet.

 

Hey Zyto Thanks for answering not yet I have not tried that but I will today and let you know how it goes, for future reference is that like the first thing you usually want to do when a program has a problem? Thanks.

 

Anytime. In a General sense you would want to try any repair functions available. if none, remove and reload. Windows for all it's glory still fumbles data during transfers. Also, depending on the software, some are more prone problems than others. I do recall an issue with the first release of wmp11. Hope that answers your question... heh..
