Windows Media Player

    Windows Media Player will not open at all. When I try to open from my music files i'm getting "Server execution failed". Same problem with my movie files? This has me confused.

    Asus Win 8.1 Pro (x64)
    CPU AMD A8-5500 with Radeon HD Graphics 3.2 GHz
    RAM 6 GB

    Hi

    If the above FixIt doesnt help then in the Services list Stop and Disable the Windows Media Player Network Sharing Service, especially if you are not sharing media over a network, seemed to work for me with this issue in past.

    Thanks DavidGP the fixit tool unistall and reinstall wmp. Works fine know.

    JoeRay12 tried that and "Troubleshooter couldn't identify the problem"

    Now I just have to wait for 183 GB of music to go back on the player.
