    I have WinXP...

I have always used media player to burn my CD's. A few days ago I got the message that it does not detect a cd or dvd burner. Why did this happen and what can I do about it.

I do have Roxio and it woks fine but I like the features of the Windows player. Is this a common problem?

Okay, I've been to the Microsoft website (useless) and other places and my problem seems to have something to do with IMAPI whatever that is. Does this mean that sooner or later ALL media players will fail or am I just a 'chosen few'? I tried to search your pages for similar problems but it seems aas though I'm the only one.

    I feel so special... :D
