Hello, recently I tried to burn a cd with wmp11 xp and the cpu started running at 95-100%. It does this as soon as I open wmp. Checked for viruses and I'm only monitoring two folders so I don't know what else to check. This seems to be a common problem but I haven't seen a fix yet. Thanks for any help, Mike

    How big is your RAM?
Can you state your machine specs?

I've discovered if I remove z:/my music as a monitored folder things are back to normal. This where I keep all my music and I have for years so what should I look for that is driving my cpu nuts? The only folder left for monitoring is the rip folder. Thanks

I created a separate music folder because some other sites recommend not using "My Music" folders. Now everything is ok until I search the music folder for the library and it bogs down half way through.

I fixed it. Found a partial video file that was causing the problems.
