Windows Messenger help

I just got this computer, a dell tower, 2.9 gig processor, 60 gig hard drive, 1 gig RAM, using Windows XP, Just got DSL hooked up today. I have a version of Windows Messenger that came with XP, it won't open I keep getting a 8100038d error message, I emailed MSN and done everything that they suggested and it still won't work. I have tried to download a newer version, I get same message. Any Ideas or assistance is greatly appreciated in advance.

 

Yes sir it is MSN Messenger, and If I read that page correctly there is no fix, thank you, I guess I just won't use it again no time soon. Least til MSN comes up with a cure.
