Do any of you use Windows Movie maker?

I bought a Leadtek TV 2000xp Deluxe to capture films from my camcorder to PC, It works great (sort of). The video is easy to load and it looks great, the problem I am having is with the Audio portion. It sounds very over driven. I have lowered all levels, still no luck. Just want to know if anybody else can provide me some advice, I have to get these movies done for my dad as a great Christmas gift. (they are videos of his mom who passed earlier this year)

Question #2 I bought a dvd writer, can I copy my movies that I have already bought? If so, how? Just want to make backups, I have bought Finding Nemo twice now, my youngest son bit the first one! Don't ask why he did it, I don't know. I just chalk it up in the "he's a typical boy" catagory. Thanks for any info you can provide, or practices you have found to make this easier.

    Shaun

EDIT: I have yet to install the DVD burner.
