Windows movie maker crash

K, im hoping that i didnt miss anything on this site when it comes to other programs other than anti virus...

Im trying to make a music video using a mix of songs. Strangely for some reason whenever i add a song to the timeline the maker crashes, whenever i pass my mouse of the other song, the one i use for the credits it crashes. I found a site that recomended me altering the .ax names to something like .ax_ but that didnt work for me. I dont understand why this is happening, i reformated my computer about 2 months ago and before hand i had no problems with it. The maker is the latest version, the one that came with SP2, i also went to downloads.com and redownloaded the program thinking that it would correct itself if i did that, no such luck unfortunatly. Please help, i got this idea for a new music video and its just killing me not being able to work on it. Thanks in advance.

 

does anyone know what im talking about? is there some other info that i could find that would be helpfull?
