can anyone help?

Some basic advice on this error from Microsoft.

Does this happen frequently? If so, is it the same error each time?

That's a new one to me and Google

Look for a hidden folder in the Windows directory called Inf\Other, any 3rd party drivers should be listed there, point the installer into it. If you need other files, they'll mostly be in \System or \System32. If you (or the Windows installer) can't find them, we'll need some system information.

 

If it were happening to me, the first thing I would try is to install Service Pack 6 or 6a.

 

Maybe cause it's Friday night and I should not be in front of the computer after this many drinks but you might wanna get off NT4. Heck, 2000 Server doesn't cost but a drop in the bucket of most peoples budgets. Then again even that is out of date by a lot of business standards.
