Please check carefully....do you mean ashdisp.exe or ashdsp.exe? Do you run Avast anti virus on the laptop?

It is likely this is a virus and I am having our Authorized Malware Fighters look in to this. If this is so you will need to work through the Read and Run Me First advice and make a new post with logs attached in the Malware Forum

Please follow the instructions in the below link and attach the requested logs when you finish these instructions. If something does not run, write down the info to explain to us later but keep on going. Do not assume that because one step does not work that they all will not.

READ & RUN ME FIRST. Malware Removal Guide

Note: If you run into problems trying to run the READ & RUN ME or any of the scans in normal boot mode. You can running steps in safe boot mode but make sure you tell us what you did later when you post logs. See the below if you do not know how to boot in safe mode:

Starting your computer in Safe mode

Click on Defragment. If you receive a message that the drive does not need to be defragmented, choose to defragment anyway.
Let this finish. Do not perform any other tasks on the system while the defragment is running. It will take a while.
When it is done, it will show you a report. Look for the Total Fragmentation percentage. If it is greater than 5%, click the Defragment button again and let it complete a second time.
Continue to defragment the drive until either the Total Fragmentation drops below 5% or the percentage does not lower beyond the current value.

    Bob, you have malware :(

We are unable to help you with any other issues you are experiencing until you work through the advice given in Post #5 of this thread. You then need to start a new thread in the Malware Forum and attach the logs requested in the instructions. Once you have clearance from the Authorized Malware Fighters that your computer is clean, then we will be in a position to address any additional problems. Until then, however, there is no point in doing so as your problems are predominantly malware related.

Bob, ashDsp.exe is part of Avast and is in C:\Program Files\Avast4 in my system, not in C:\windows\system32. If not Malware as the others suggest, I would uninstall Avast, run CCleaner and re-install Avast. Hope this helps. Bazza
