    How you doin again...

Ok, just a slight dilemma here.

I am experiencing various problems from time to time, and more often of late when I open pages in Internet Explorer. Sometimes the page hangs or freezes and the same situation occurs when I may be a few minutes into visiting a site, once again resulting in the page freezing.

Sometimes a pop up will tell me that IE has failed, but more frequently of late I must close the page through task manager.

I am fairly certain I don't have any virus, maleware etc. I have just done a scan with Malwarebytes.......the details which are attached below.

    Thank you in advance....

Hey Kyotocon you might want to consider doing the R&R Me 1rst http://forums.majorgeeks.com/images/misc/navbits_finallink.gif and post your logs in the malware forums as this is just for software problems. I'm not saying it isn't a software problem but doing just the MBAM doesn't always mean you aren't infected, that's why it's just better and safer to do the whole thing to be sure. I have MBAM plus other security programs and have run them all in the past and only one would come up with a problem if there was a problem on my pc. Try the Read & Run Me First, it can't hurt and you'll know for sure.

I've seen problems reported with SP2 in Vista. I've seen problems reported with IE8. Since you are running both, the problems could be caused by either or something else entirely.
Think back, did the problems start occurring after SP2 was installed?

Or, just to try this: Uninstall any antivirus or firewall program you may have installed. See if that helps.

Or set IE8 to defaults, via: Tools, internet options, Advanced, reset, (up to you, you can check the box "delete personal settings" if you are desperate), reset, close, ok, quit IE, try IE again.

Also, do other browsers have the same issue? FF, opera, chrome, etc....

your particular AV/FW/suite, and possibly recent database updates, may have something to do with it. i have KIS 2010 (Kaspersky), another poster has BDIS (BitDefender) and there were similar problems. i mainly use Firefox (although IE was affected also) and the slowness/freezing was cured by a KIS 2010 critical update.

have info about KIS, if it applies to you. otherwise, follow the other recommendations.

    Hi

Try running IE in its No-Addons mode (Start > All Programs > Accessories > System Tools > Internet Explorer No-Addons) and see if IE behaves?

If it does then you have a 3rd party add-on thats causing the problem so update the likes of Adobe Flash and Shockwave as well as Sun Java and then follow this advice to troubleshoot the add-ons

Disable your 3rd party firewall if installed to test internet connection, rare but never know.

Have you checked with your ISP that they are having no issues with your internet?
