windows recorder

Hi All,
I can't get windows recorder to record all i get is a hiss in the backround. every thing is set to default my microphone is working nothing is muted but still nothing. Does anyone have any experience with this? or is there somewhere else i can get a recorder. I have IE 7 XP This is the first time i have tried to use it so i don't know if it is a IE7 issue.

HI!
The only time I experienced the 'hissing' sound in Sound Recorder was when I had the Volume set too high.
Might check that.
I don't think it's an IE7 problem since I've installed it and Sound Recorder works just fine.
Not much help....I know...but it was all I had to offer.

This may help:

Windows Mic Test

Test your sound and microphone through Windows. This usually identifies problems with your sound and microphone hardware.

Open Windows Start menu, then select Control Panel, then select Sounds and Audio Devices.
In Sounds and Audio Device Properties, select the Voice tab.
Click the Test Hardware button.
Go through the steps in the Sound Hardware Test Wizard as prompted.

Hi Toni,
Your GREAT thanks alot it's working now. I found it after setup could not complete . volume- microphone- advanced- check microphone boxes.
