We have an application server that many users are hitting from different locations around the country. Each user/branch location has thier own printers installed, which they use for local printing. By default, local printers are forwarded to Remote Desktop so that anything that is sent to a printer in the Remote Desktop session is sent to the defaul local printer that is installed. In theory, anyway, this works. However, there have been numerous problems with this from the beginning. Microsoft has acknowledged at least on bug relative to this, the symptoms and fix for which are descirbed in this article: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/302361 . Implementing the fix described in the article has solved issues for some users. We have attempted to make sure all of the printer drivers are installed on the applicaion server, but there are so many users connecting, with some any printers, this becomes a challange. Is there a better way to approach printing through Remote Desktop? Any help is appreciated.
