Be aware that the Major Geeks download screen here:
    http://www.majorgeeks.com/files/image/4713.html

is nothing like what I downloaded from tweaking.com and ran. At the end of the run is when tweaking.com throw the punchline: It's $49, which I would be willing to pay if it wasn't introduced as free. It states quite clearly on the top screen (in green on the Welcome to Tweaking.com screen on the example page above) "All our programs are completely free. We are 100% advertising and donation supported." Hmmm. A new spin on tweaking, yes?

That is what we call bait-and-switch. Which leads me to be highly suspicious that this will even work...and further leads me to distrust ANY product at Major Geeks if this is representative of THEIR behavior and marketing standards. (a 1 out of 1 draw).

    I'll Pass.

Unless anyone can show me a link where more-than-1 somebody is happy with the product. Where there is not someone pulling a bait-and-switch soft-shoe shuffle as this seems until I hear otherwise.

This even goes back to where I found this link at bleepingcomputer.com
    http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/t/558738/computer-very-slow-loses-internet-often/
from the moderator boopme. I suppose that tweaking.com could have changed the product in 6 days (today is 12/11/14 and that post was 11/5/14) but that's the ONLY way around all of this in the way of any explanation. Archive.org is down for maintenance today so I can't really chase the issue there.

It's not $49 it's free. I know the owner personally and beta test it. It's always been free. Every thread, everywhere, every rating gives it 5 stars. The thread you refer to is ridiculously long to read although I see they told them to use it so that's not proof in any way.

I would like PROOF of where it says the program is $49. In your screenshot example, it says nowhere that it's 49 bucks. I'm betting your infected. I will have the author come here and address your concerns but lets see that screenshot, otherwise we won't be of any help...

My program is free, you most likely clicked an ad and downloaded the wrong program. Post a screen shot of the program you downloaded.

OK, more information. First, I think you were right, Major, I must have been infected. But I did NOT click on an ad, I do think there was more of a redirect to reimage repair program (but the url contained tweaking.com). In fact, come to think of it, everything I clicked on took me to the same place.

I ran an sfc /scannow and that did not find anything. But then I I ran the DISM.exe/Online /Cleanup-image /Restorehealth program and that found corrupted files which it said it fixed. I immediately rebooted.

Now the correct screen has come up and the Windows Repair 2.10.2 program is running as described. I'm following the instructions carefully. I will let everyone know the results when I am done.

I appreciate the quick response Major for addressing my peculiar issue.

Glad to hear it. We suspected you were somehow redirected. Hope you like the program and glad we worked it all out :)
