windows restart cycle HELP!!

Hey guys,

i'm having a horrible day and i just came home to a computer problem!!!
im losing it...

to begin i have an hp pavilion a600n running windows xp home edition.

last night i was just surfing about, just doing random things on limewire, shareaza and on the internet. i dont remember everything i did but basically my computer started behaving unusually slowly so i restarted it in safe mode and ran my regular virus/adware scans. it found like 20 thigns which is unusual because i always keep my computer super clean so its normally zero. i deleted all the stuff it found and deleted files norton suggested to delete from the registry, deleted temp files, all that stuff. i booted it back in normal mode and it worked much better. i went to bed..

i get up the next morning go out come back at 5pm turn on the computer, it boots normally goes up to the point where i can see the desktop and move my cursor but right then it restarts itself. it keeps doing this over and over.
i tried booted in safe mode but it still does the same thing. i even selected 'restart with last working config.' and it didnt affect it.

any ideas of what i can do?

please help ASAP im freaking out..

Right-click My Computer, Properties, then Advanced tab.

Under Startup and Recovery, click Settings, then under System Failure uncheck "Automatically Restart".

That won't fix anything, but may stop it from restarting when it encounters an error.

Check the Event Viewer for any clues on the error, and also pay a visit to the Spyware Forum and follow their recommendations to make sure you are free of infection.

as soon as i see my cursor it restarts...

 

Try it in Safe Mode.

 

is there any way i can get some of my old files though????
