Windows Restore

Hello everyone, I am new to this forum several of my friends had suggest I come here for some help and advice. I am running a with an AMD processor and window xp standard edition.

It has been a long road getting here and I want go into to many details just ask my question. I hope this is the right forum for this post. I was hit by a virus the other day, got the virus off my computer but then ran into a problem where windows would not boot into regular mode, I could only get it to boot into safe mode, long story short in my frustration and lack of sleep last night I just did a non-destructive recovery with a program called PC Angel. Now I am back up and running on Windows and I see the back up from PC Angel on the hard drive, my question is there away to restore the computer back with all the programs and stuff working with the backup folder that pc angel made or do I have to go back a reinstall everything ????

Hi

Not knowing that applications functions but if you have a backup done with PC Angel which is recent and covers all your installed applications I dont see why not, will just have to work out how PC Angel runs and how it recovers, many recovery apps use boot CD/DVDs to open and recover image/backup files.

But this PC Angel backup would need to be from a time when all your current applications where installed and working properly.... if its an old backup then it may not cover your most recient applications.

If PC Angel is just a non destructive recovery agent then sadly you will have to re-install all your favoured applciations and settings, applications like Acronis True Image 2009 are more geared to this type of backup recovery and I ahve used Acronis for many years and its a great option.
