   Hi guys
   
   I am new but eager to learn. My ex wife left with a headache for a change. I tried to restore my pc but it says for me to reinstall..<Windows root\system32\hal.dll Can anybody help me with this dilemma. Many thanks Dan

   hal stands for hardware abstraction layer. Read through these various solutions
   http://www.kellys-korner-xp.com/xp_haldll_missing.htm
   and see what makes sense.
   It would also help if you mentioned the brand and model of computer, whether you have a restore/recovery CD or restore on a partition in the computer or a windows CD and the reason why you needed to restore the pc.
