    One more for you...
I've got data files that were on a NT4 box and burned them to a cd and moved to the SBS. Now when I try to access them nothing good comes from it. Should these files be read only? "no" right? So I try to unselect read only and I get "and the subfolder and files to" routine and select yes ....Go back and still read only kinda grayed out but you can still click on it.

Any Ideas on how to keep the files from reverting back to read only?

    Thanks

hmm... when you burned them to a CD you should have got rid of all the ownership rules. What have you set the permissions to for the parent folder and have you re-set the child files to reflect this? I can go thru how to do that if you need to.

Try taking ownership over them all (in advanced permissions) and then re-setting the permissions.

Well I've set them with full control and the shared folder still shows read only....in fact any new folder I make is set to read only. What da ya think??
