I don't think its possible or you even want to completely remove IE. I use firefox as my main browser therefore am not to familiar with IE settings.

My only suggestion is to see if you may have JavaScript turned off or an old version of Adobe's Flash Player. Get the latest Flash player if yours is outta date. I'm not positive but would bet you could get that here.

I apologize if none of this helped you. :(

Disabling your AntiVirus should Not be the solution.

You can use the link provided by plodr to revert to IE8.
Be sure to reboot after making any changes.

Download and run the Adobe Flash Player Uninstaller to remove old versions and prevent conflicts.

You can go HERE to get the current version of FlashPlayer.
Be sure to UNCHECK the checkbox for installing Google Chrome.

After installation, go here to verify that you have the proper installation: About: Adobe Flashplayer

It sounds like the security settings got set too high. The high security preset will disable file downloads, plugins, scripting, etc.
You can check your internet options and reset IE's security setting back to default.

Tools > Internet Options > Security Tab

Select Internet Zone (globe) and click the Default level button

you can also click the custom level button and make sure run activex controls and plug-ins is enabled, also make sure active scripting is also enabled. Both of these should be turned on if you set the security setting back to default.

I wanted to thank everyone for their help and assistance. I removed IE 9 and installed IE8, and upgraded adobe. IT actually worked, im able to read my email, that carry PDF files, and im able to view videos. I appreciate everything, im thinking theres something with IE9, if anyone has any insight on IE9 it would be helpful since, my wife uses firefox, and i use IE8.

    Thanks

I have IE9 on my laptop with Vista Ultimate 32-bit and I haven't had any issues with it. It's more of a secondary browser but it works with everything that I need including youtube.

IE9 has a feature called ActiveX Filtering (under the Tools menu). If ActiveX Filtering is enabled, you will not be able to view any Flash content.

ActiveX Filtering can also be selectively disabled, by website - see http://ie.microsoft.com/testdrive/Browser/ActiveXFiltering/About.html

There are other things on IE9 that can prevent Flash Player from running; please post if you still encounter problems.

cvsnow, you need to start your own thread not tack your problem onto someone else's thread.
