    Hi, everyone :)

I'm trying to understand Windows Server 2003, and the way in which small business networks are set up. I've currently got the Enterprise Edition, and am trying to create a simple network utilizing the server and one other computer (running windows xp).

I've applied the initial roles to the server computer, and insured that the network connections are correct, but I cannot get the server to recognize the other system. Do I need to run the windows xp network wizard on both systems?

Thanks for all your help! :)

Have you setup a domain on the server? I wouldn't use the network wizard in this case.

If you're simply trying to setup "Workgroup" between PC and the Server, make sure your workgroup names match, sercurity settings match (user name and password and etc...), and your TCP/IP settings match.
You might want to turn on the DNS and WINS service on the server so that it resolves PC dns correctly. DHCP service do not have to be turned on but it depends on your network.
If you are trying to setup Domain based LAN, you need to read alot more about network then querying here.
