I'm tech savvy, but not an IT guy (by choice), so hopefully this is a somewhat simple question.

We have an old Dell machine running Windows Server 2000. Is it possible for me to install bootcamp on a Mac Mini and get rid of this mammoth server?

Maybe, i see more troubles with the fact windows 2000 is an old and probably unsupported server os. What im trying to say is, the mac mini should work great as a server for ya, despite you using it as windows server :p, the issue is if windows 2000 will install, which it should, but seeing as windows 2000 server is an old version, if you were to install say, windows 2008 server, im sure you would have better luck.

I see. I brought up v 2000 because it's what is currently running. So Windows Server 2008 is the current version correct? Know if this would function on a MacMini with Bootcamp?

I have no experience doing it, but it should with no troubles, as seven runs great with boot camp or what ever method you choose to install. And seven and 2008 server have pretty similar cores.
