Windows SP3 install [Bandit5906]

Have have several PCs which have D-Link PCI cards and all of them have encoultered error messages upon booting with SP3 (never had a porblem before). I also have 15 or so PCs which do not have D-Link PCIs and no problems there. the drivers are current on the D-link PCs, BTW!

The errors revolve around WXCSLDR2.exe and also AirPlusCFG.exe: removing none essential D-Link software via the control panel took care of the AirPlusCFG.exe, but not the other (msconfig and manual remove).

They claim it is possibly a spyware/virus issue, but I cannot prove that.

Any thoughts?

Reinstall drivers for D-link cards.

Reinstall of the drivers took care of: nothing! I had to delete!

 

Maybe do a system restore to get back before sp3 (you might have to do it from safe mode), remove the card and traces of it (drivers - registry clean etc.) then install SP3 and try putting the card in afterwords. Maybe putting the cart before the horse will work this time.

 

I have a D-Link wireless card and had no problems with the SP3 install. When I installed my card, I used the Add Hardware wizard to get the driver off the disc and used Windows to manage the link, instead of running the D-Link installation CD and installing their software. Uninstall everything and try this as I suspect the D-Link software may not be compatible with SP3.
