More information would be helpful before making any suggestions! What Operating System are you running? :)

I don't agree with USRobotics assessment of your problem, but it is a possibility. But in order to reload Windows, it isn't necessary to carry your computer to a shop, as that costs money. There are many board members capable of walking you through a Windows reinstall, step by step, provided you have the Windows CD, of course.

Your post is sort of confusing in that you state that Windows will not load, but later you talk about it freezing while on the internet also. Windows has to load before you get on the internet, unless you are dual booting with an alternate OS. Or at least that is the way that it works for me.

To me, the problem seems to be hardware related from your original post. Shutting down your computer the way that you described can cause hard drive failure, especially if Windows is trying to do anything when you shut it down in the manner that you mentioned.

System specifications would also be helpful, although I didn't ask for them in my original reply. The more information that is given, the better the chance for a fix. This post will put your problem at the top of the forum, and perhaps other members will give more suggestions than myself! ;)
