Windows store

Hello
When I had Win 8 I used to swoop in to the store and there would be updates in the upper right corner.
I now have 8.1 and I see none.
What am I doing wrong?

You are not doing anything wrong, peterr... The same exact situation happened to me as well, when I updated my operating system to Windows 8.1 (from 8.0) this past Saturday. I had 24 updates in the corner of the "Store" app; and then after Windows 8.1 was downloaded and installed; I suddenly saw no updates listed at all, as well. After searching the web I believe I found out the reason for this happening and I concluded that: the 8.0 apps were all replaced by newer and updated 8.1 apps, including the Windows Store metro screen app.

Side Note: Additionally, I initially could not even get the "store app" to function properly on my computer. For some reason it kept shutting down immediately after opening it and I was unable to update anything from the MS site. The workaround was that I had to create a brand new user and then update from 8.0 to 8.1 from the Microsoft website went very smoothly. Incidentally or those who have not done so updating is a slow, long process (which took me around four hours). But the good news was that unlike previous Windows versions, my programs and personal files were unaffected.

Thank you for replying and for letting me know I am not alone. Maybe 8.1 being so new does not need any updates or maybe they have discontinued the feature. I read that an app cannot be installed unless up to date.
I do not use it but hope they get it worked out if they plan to.
All else is going well. I needed software from some manufacturers and installed and kept the links for future reference. The printer works well.
Actually the update from the store was quick, crisp and quite good for both pcs. I am quite pleased with 8.1 but have Win 7 and 8 imaged in case it deteriorates. It too is imaged, 3rd party.
