We need some more information about the setup please.

Please describe how you have connected things up, including the cabling, between the pcs/switch/modem.

Are any of the cables crossover cables?

Do you know if your switch is capable of providing the DHCP?

To be honest im not 100% sure if i connected the cables right, i just got the info from Google. I did notice one of the cable has CAT 6 Patch Cable UTP printed on it, the other two cables has CAT 5 would that matter? Ive connected one of the cables to the back of the ADSL Modem and the other end to the back of the Switch. Then i connected the other two cables to the back of the PC (NIC) the other ends to the back of the switch. I bought the Switch today, there was a web address on the box http://wisenet.com.cn which i Googled but i could not find any information. On the box it has, 8port 10/100M Fast Ethernet Switch, IEE802.3 10Base-T, IEEE802.3u 100Base-TX. Also i belive this Modem has a Router build in it, Ta.

There should only be one cable connected to each pc. It does not matter if the are cat 5 or 6.

I am attaching a photo of a typical modem / switch connection.

You need to provide full detail such as the make an model of the switch, and proper cabling details. Photos can help if you can do them easily. cut them down to fit Major Geeks upload requirements.

    Connections look good.

So where are you with installation?

Does the Siemens work with one pc using the ethernet but without the Wise switch?
Did you ever install the Siemens using a provided CD and the USB?
If this simplified setup doesn't work post the exact error message and the circumstances of the error.

Im at the stage where i run Network Setup Wizard on both computers. But the IP address on the second PC keeps coming up as " Windows System Error.
The Siemens works with one PC using the Ethernet without the Switch. Yes
I installed the Siemens using the CD provided all thoug i havent use the USB connection before.

You shouldn't need the network setup wizard - that is for another purpose.

    In network connections

    right click the LAN

    Choose properties
    choose tcp/ip
    choose properties

Make sure all the options are set to automatic

    Open Internet Explorer
    tools>internet options>connections
    use never dial a connection
    on the LAN settings button
make sure 'automatically detect settings' is not ticked
    close internet explorer

    open internet explorer
    Your internet should now work.

All the settings are correct on both of the PC's. I find a user guide for Siemens Im just looking at that, it says here that the modem has a router built in it, would that need to be configured?

I GOT IT ! Im on the Home Network, it turned out that my modem was set on the Optus Bridge in setup. I changed this to NAPT, did a reboot of the modem and the two PC's. Went to start > control panel > Network connections > right click on Local Area Connection > Repair, after that everything was on line. Thank you studiot for your concern and your time.
