I have a customer whose Windows Update wouldn't run so I suggested we do the SP2 update and then try. Well it still doesn't work and gives us the error message 0X80248011, Now I am no dummy and have already been all over google and yahoo without any of the suggestions working. Has anybody ran into this real world and has a solution?

Thanks in advance for your help.

    Raider:

Don't lose too much sleep over Windows Update not functioning, if other sites do.

V5 has some issues. MS is aware of it, that is, if they listened to us. Who knows.

We are getting a lot of calls on it and have no solution, as it appears to be sporadic.

I have a feeling that once Sp2 has been largely downloaded, the problems with V5 are going to subside some.

and if worse comes to worse, you could always grab the full 266MB network install and avoid WU altogether.

Already tried the XML update and I did use the 266MB network install. With SP2 wanting Automatic Updates and the customer being very paranoid after being hit by Blaster and Sasser I need to do something. I guess a format may be in order.
