Windows Update CD

A while back, Microsoft used to offer an update CD. THis worked on pre-XP systems. I can not find any information online regarding a new version for win XP. I have a lot of customers that are still on dial up...and a CD for a majority of the updates would sure work well. Anyone know where to find more info.

Don't know if it's still available (or if that's what you want), but you can order the SP2 CD from HERE.

 

I am not referring to the service pack CD, I already have a couple of those. What I am looking for is the security updates. They used to make one for the older versions of windows...but have not seen such a CD since SP2 came out. Not everyone has broadband and can "afford" the bandwidth on dialup to get all the security updates. Also, wouldnt it be better to update the PC initially offline...to avoid any problems when first hooking up a new computer to the net?

The only CD they have given are for SP2, or the Security CD they offered a while back.

They haven't done one since.

If you want it on CD, then download the updates and burn them.

 

Prior to the SP2 cd MS did offer an update CD, I know cause I have one.
It was good for Windows 98 thru XP, was also free including shipping
The Link "was" posted here at MG, A long time ago, even if you could get it, it's so obsolete now.

 

I did say SP2 CD or the Security CD. I have one also.

Unfortunately, it's no longer available. Only way is to download the patches and burn them.

 

And I said an Update CD, as did the original poster, completely different than the SP2 cd or the security cd.


Just making a useless point.

What I'm aware of is a Security Update CD or the SP2 CD.

 

I hate to say it But after looking at my "Security Update CD 2004" I must be mistaken

I've been digging thru my cd's, I cant come up with one.
I thinking maybe I confused Security Update Cd with a MS 1yr trial Antivirus that might have come with the Security update CD? or?

Damn, I thought I was entitled to another free CD from Micro$$oft.

I love free stuff, so I was hoping I previously missed out.
