I have had this Windows Update error code come up several times in the past week. When I look up fixes, almost every website I try, including one recommended in another Windows Update error thread here, tells me to do something different. Most tell me to run the Windows Update Troubleshooter, which I have done, but it doesn't fix the problem. Two different sites told me to reset Windows Update Components, but differed in the process (mostly in the commands to enter). I consider myself fairly computer savvy, but I feel like I'm in way over my head with this problem and ready to scream words that would be most inappropriate to type here. I would appreciate ANY recommendation. Should I just run the Command Prompts or download the .bat file as one site recommended?

Corrupt/damaged system files can lead to this error.

Let's Run a file system scan.

Press Win + R to run the Dialog box.OR in search box Type CMD.

    Type CMD for command prompt.

Now in the command prompt, Type sfc/scannow This scan can take a few minutes to run.

Once over, Reboot the Windows 10 device and check whether this solves the update error 0x8007000d or not.

Let us know if there are any errors.

Edit in Windows 11 you will need to be Administrator to run this function.

I ran the file system scan before trying to run Windows Update. Same error code.

I ran the DISM. Didn't fix the issue. Maybe resetting the Windows Update Components would work?
