Windows Update has stopped working

Hey guys. I'm stumped on this one.

We have Windows Server 2008 SP2, and about 5 months ago we started getting the following error. It's attached. Here is the text though.

I saw that the last time that updates were installed were 08/27/2010. I searched around and found a post about installing the latest update agent. I did that, rebooted the server, but still this error is there.

One suggestion is to run sfc /scannow, which is in progress as of the time of this post. However, what is the real problem and the real ultimate solution? Thanks! major

I am going to do a reboot, but I'm looking at those logs as well. I would love to post them, but the zip file is just over the 2MB limit, so I don't know what to do there.

 

I would not presume to understand exactly what is happening. From what I have read though, it relates to DEP and a buffer overflow.

Are you trying to install multiple updates?

I've had luck just going to microsoft's website and searching for the KB##### and manually downloading the update. Then after that update goes through running windows update to see if it resolved.

Just an idea.
