Do you have a firewall that might be preventing the download of the update?

leave us all some system specs so we can try and figure out your issue. :)

Check for a WUtemp directory on your main drive, probably c:. Delete it if it exists. That might do it.

As for N!nja4tr!k3r and whatever your other nickname was, your not very bright. You have a static IP. Might as well post your home address publicly, thats how easy it will be for me to report you to your ISP for abusive behavior and posting software cracks, violations of any ISP. I will call them personally next time you show up here. Your posts are all still here for proof, only visible by mods and whoever we give permission to view.

Hi, I am also experiencing this "Downloading updates: 0%" issue from the Automatic updates.

I just formatted my HD and reinstalled with Windows XP home, and updated all the recommended updates from the website (that works). But now the auto update icon appears with the problem above.

I am using a DSL line with a Netgear WGR614 router (NAT, firewall, wireless).
I have tried looking for a WUtemp directory with no success.

    Please advise!

    Rgds

I fixed the problem by manually going to the windows update site and installing SP1.
After that, the auto update works. It begins by installing a bunch of security updates. Then everything seems to go back to normal.

my dad fully updated our computer, because the windows update webpage says there are no critical updates, but he set it to automatically download updates, so is it possibly trying to download something that doesnt exist?? oh yeah forgot to mention im on sp1, so where can i get sp2, i cant find it in windows updates.
