Windows Update Is Mia

My Lenovo Laptop is Running Win10 Pro. It was running a windows update without asking first. It was hung up. I shut down my machine even though it said not too, nothing was budging on my machine. (yes, I know!) When I turned the power back on, it was working fine. I wanted to check to see if all of the updates were installed, but Windows Update is not available on my machine now. I went to the Microsoft site and had the option to install updates which installed 1809. Now my machine is running fine, but Windows Update is still no longer available. When I type "Check for Updates" in the search bar, Check for updates is one of the options, but it takes me to the Windows Settings page where I can select Update and Security but Windows Update is not one of the options. I ran scans with Malwarebytes and ran a full system scan with Tweaking.com, but Windows Update is still not there. Help!

there are all sorts of tools there, have a look and see what strikes your fancy.
each program says pretty much the same thing.... there can be multiple reasons
why windows update can fail, and their program 'may' fix the problem.

so you just have to give them a try and see what happens.
