I have this huge update pending in my Windows Update panel on my Win 8.1 laptop. This 723.9MB size is way beyond what any typical update would be, other than vary special ones such as the update of Win 8 to 8.1. My updates panel shows a published date of 4/14/2015. Windows did not alert me to it until today.

Wondering whether any of you have received, and installed, this update?

The KB3000850 is for Windows 8.1 x64-based Systems. It was published 11/17/2014. On the Microsoft forums some users reported having issues after installing the update. You'll have to wait for advise from other members as I use 32-bit Windows.

The published date I mentioned appears in my Updates panel; see the attached image. But, the KB article says November 2014, as you mentioned. Another puzzling point.

I've just found it in installed updates, dated 3/3/15, also not a patch day. So MS are rolling it out progressively.

The Update KB3000850 install date on my Win8.1 is 11-19-14. I have not seen any problems with it.

This link Joris035 gave has lots of info and fixes if you get a error on the update. https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/3000850

Yeah, not the best option as a roll-up update, msft have started to issue these AIO updates for systems that may miss the periodic patch Tuesday ones, so while the size is large what actually gets installed maybe 1 or 2 updates only.

Personally I prefer the single patch update route, easier to find a faulting update (currently have one in W10, found that its the Synaptics driver update from WU).
