    Hello.
I have not been on this forum for ages. Miraculously this is the first computer problem we've had in a LONG time. My Sister's Laptop,
    HP Pavillion
    Windows 10 operating system
She started it up and it started a message saying "Hi" "we have some updates for you" "this may take several minutes" (with a sub-message saying to not turn off the computer), It keeps looping this message, sometimes going to another message about the updates being for safety or something, it only got to that message once then kept looping the other three messages. Sometimes restarting the loop immediately after "Hi" fades away, then starting again with "Hi". Okay, so I think you understand the problem we are having. We are afraid to hard restart the computer because it is in this loop, and need to know what we can do to fix it. Any help would be great. I can't really give more details on the computer because I can't get to the system stats or anything due to the problem.

Thank you in advance for any help.

Update: Just after I finished posting this thread it ended up finishing its loop. EXCEPT now it is on a black desktop, did not take her to her login like normal, just displaying an empty black desktop with only the recycle bin icon. She has clicked the windows icon in the bottom left corner but nothing happens. So now we have this instead of the loop. Any help is still appreciated.

New Update: this problem gets weirder. My sister, without consulting me, Hard restarted the computer. It booted up normally until she logged in. Then it went to black, and the bottom bar (where the Microsoft emblem and start icons are) Is blinking. I can't do anything. Not sure what to do but at least I may be able to start it up in safe mode now. I just don't know what to do if I do start it up in safe mode.
