Ok here is what we can try. doing this you may loose all your favorites under ie so you may want to save them somewhere.

right click on the IE icon on your desktop> come down to properties>go to the advance tab come down to the reset tab. push the reset tab>click ok close that dialogue box
now open ie click tool and click update and see if it goes there now

Post back and let me know what happens

This may sound crazy, but give it a shot just to see what happens. You said in your first post that every time you click on IE update it sends you back to your home page. How about if we make windows update your home page just to see what happens. I don't think it will solve the problem, but I'm curious to see if it continues to loop or will it be forced to stay on that page

I've had a few hours to sleep on this. I want you to do the xp cleaning in the malware section. I'm not an expert on malware but i do know that it can cause your browser to be redirected and block sites and cause unwanted pop ups. Sometimes all the symptoms appear sometimes just one of them. I'm not saying you have malware but it is a possibility, and that would explain the browser redirection. Go to this link XP Cleaning and follow the cleaning instructions. they have made it very easy, and it doesn't take that long, make sure you post your logs as directed in the malware forum so the experts can take a look at it and give you a clean bill of health.
If after you complete this process and you still have the same problem, post back and i along with others who read your post will look for other suggestions..
